Money Matters.

Investing in an APCO Retail Site doesn’t have to break the bank.

APCO Retail Partners can expect to make an initial investment of around $200,000 - $350,000 stock weight, depending on the store size. There is no initial licence fee to join the APCO business model and the whole store fit-out is provided, as well as use of APCO trademarks, branding and intellectual property. A fully refundable $50,000 bond (returnable on exit) is then all you need to get started!

As an incoming Retail Partner, you will also be responsible for the cost of preparation of Franchise / Licensee Purchase and Retail Supply Agreements and associated legal expenses. These are currently estimated at approximately $3000 plus GST.

In return for your investment, you will reap the benefits of operating under a recognised and respected brand name. As well as providing training and ongoing support, APCO supplies our Retail Partners with all major service station and shop equipment, and takes responsibility for its ongoing maintenance and repair. We also pay your power bills and council rates. As Retail Partner, you will own all shop and Café stock while APCO will own the site, building and fuel; with Retail Partners receiving a monthly ‘guaranteed’ commission on all fuel sold.

APCO also support new Retail Partners at brand new sites with their additional opening costs, including marketing and promotional materials, and can also support some initial staff wages, and café wastage costs depending on needs and requirements to kickstart the business. It is in APCO’s interest to ensure the success of your business, so you’re never alone and we’re always keen to support growth opportunities!.

Once operational, all Retail Partners are required to pay an ongoing royalty on shop & cafe sales to APCO. This royalty helps to cover the ongoing cost operations for the store, equipment, repairs, power, rates, etc and of course also, for the APCO Support Office team in the day-to-day operation of the business model, its’ administration and other associated costs. The APCO shop sales royalty is currently 8.5% in our ‘IGA’ grocery Store model and 10% in our ‘Convenience’ Store model.

All Retail Partners are also required to pay a minimal ongoing monthly fee to cover the costs of HR and Workplace Relations advice.

Further ongoing costs for Retail Partners include the payment and cost of staff wages, purchase of stock, and general minor operational expenses.
